We just bought a house and discovered that there is old asbestos tile under the linoleum in the kitchen. We were planning on putting in hardwood. Roughly how much would it cost to remove the asbestos tile? It's not a large kitchen - it's 9' x 10'. I know no one can give me an exact cost, I'm just wondering what ballpark we're talking about. I was told that the fire alarm system would be extended to each unit and installed in the ceiling. Any thing to look out for or to ask about in regards to avoiding/reducing asbestos exposure during the work? Thanks.

My cousin recently asked me to renovate an apartment for her. Unfortunately, her husband began removing the linoleum with a floor scraper before he was informed that the underlying adhesive had asbestos in it. All the tile is gone now and most of the adhesive has already been stripped away, but there's still quite a bit that's exposed and half scraped away. What should I do? Do I need to pay the loads for a professional to come in and finish the job or can I just lay carpet over all this asbestos?

I'm not sure since Pearl is for lung cancer and things pertaining to the lungs. Peritoneal Mesothelioma is dealing with the abdomen area. If it's not the same, does anyone know the color for it?
