My family's house burned down 2 years ago. Apparently the ceiling had asbestos in it. We went through the rubble for about 6 months and used masks about 1/2-1/3 of the time. I'm wondering if there is any diseases, or cancers etc. we could have gotten from it. When will these effects show up? Please help I'm scared

I know that asbestos is dangerous for workers and people who come into contact with it. Our house was built in 1952 and has asbestos siding. My parents swear that it's fine because it is not falling apart. I'm extremely worried and I stress about it every day. I have a huge fear of lung cancer after our grandmother died from it a year ago. I'm getting professional help but it's not working. Any advice?

Suppose the length of time to onset of lung cancer in asbestos workers is approximately normally distributed with a mean of 26 years and a variance of 4 years squared.
a. What is the standard deviation?
b. What interval of onset times includes about 95% of the workers?
Approximate using empirical rule.
d. What is the probability that an asbestos worker gets lung cancer sooner than 22 years?
please show work so that i can use the method to figure out similar questions thank you

The flue gas scrub water from fertilizer plants are added directly into municipal water supply systems under the guise of adding fluoride. The toxic chemical waste water would cost about ,000.00 per truck load to dispose of safely, but in the US, it is sold to municipalities and diluted with our drinking water. Most European countries do not add "fluoride" and other flue contaminants to their drinking water.
The US has been through this propaganda war before with lead in gasoline and the dangers of asbestos and tobacco consumption.
Don't you think that Colgate should be worried about future litigation because of its funding of biased pro fluoride research?
The addition of fluoride to drinking water is considered a success story at the federal government. However, rates of HCC liver cancer tripled between 1975 and 2005. It increased from 1.6 to 4.9 cases per 100,000 persons. This cancer is rare, but it is easy to cause this cancer by adding fluoride to the water of laboratory rats. Neurological effects have been found in rats at low levels of only 5 parts per million. Drinking water is at about 1 part per million fluoride.
How can the government collude with industry to make its population drink industrial waste products instead of disposing of them safely?
My sister is dying from this rare cancer, and I believe it is due to her exposure to fluoride and mercury as a dental assistant over a 30 year career.
Why do we allow flue pollution in our drinking water?
Who said anything about power plants? Flue waste water from fertilizer plants ends up in our drinking water along with lead and fluoride. Aluminum manufacturing, and uranium enrichment also produce fluoride. You appear to be a bit narrow minded.

What's your source? Bigotry?

My mom smoked, drank, ate a horrible diet of fast food, and sweets. She volunteered in her community. She raised 2 kids. Had 11 siblings. She died of ovarian cancer, because it was hereditary. Not because of her diet choices, or other bad habits/behaviors. Health counselling for these behaviors would not have helped her. My biological father did not smoke, did not drink, raised his other kids, not me. He served his country. He worked hard, and cared about his kids. He died from cancer, from exposure to asbestos. Health counselling would have done him no good in his behaviors. My question is, why do you choose to be miserable, eating and doing things you wouldn't normally, to HOPEfully maintain good health, when you don't know what you will die from, that had nothing to do with what you eat, or how you exercise? What do healthy people die from? Thankfully, my cousins and aunts can have hysterectomys, or at least monitor their bodies accordingly. My parents should be here.
