If there are facts that are proven by virtually all scientists, why do people deny that such facts are true?
In the medieval, Galileo Galilei had a bad time because he found out that the sun and the earth don't do what the church guys said.
In the 1970s scientits finally found out that asbestos causes lung cancer... quite a while after the year 1900 when some doctors found out the same but could not prove well enough. Of course, the industry opposed their opinion.
In the last decades we heard some news about the risks of smoking. In the USA there was a fast change, whereas in Europe science still has to face opposition, especially in politics.
Well, and when it comes to global warming, the first thing I read here in all the answers is something like "global warming is bull****, and only tree huggers believe in that nonsense..."
Why is that so?
Why do people deny scientific facts?
One more detail:
If it is, let's say, 90% of the scientists telling you that global warming is made by us, why do you insist that the other 10% are right?

I've just found out that my step-dad was diagnosed and medical treatment doesn't offer much hope. What else is out there? What produces measurable results?
Please don't respond to my question if you're only in the alternative medicine category to voice you're objection to it's practice. No one here cares.
The statics I've read put the fatality rate at about 88.7 percent. If you can get me some stars and put this on the starred question list... maybe you can help save his life.
It's hard to accept that he'll probably die. /cry
What are the advantages of contacting attorneys? My parents will have to decide how they want to handle any legal issues but I will take advantage of all resources available to me. It seems unlikely that the attorney will have much advice regarding alternative medicines.
Challenging my question is very inappropriate of you. Leave.

I have a severe anxiety disorder where I worry every second of the day. I don't know what to do about it. My therapist won't take me until July and there are no other openings at any counseling centers in the area. I have a fear of getting lung cancer. I'm afraid to dorm at college next year because of people smoking outside of the dorm and I'm afraid to live at home because our siding has asbestos. Can someone please help me?

My Aunt was diagnosed with this about two months ago. The doctors have told our family it is inoperable. The symptoms she is having now is flluid buildup in her lungs which has to be removed about every 4 days. I wanted to know if anyone knows what to exspect from here. They will give her a kimo treatment in a few days, but I wonder if this will do any good. If anyone can tell me about how long someone with this lives once it gets to this stage. Thank you so much, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I wanted to know is it time to call hospice or how long we should wait?

The patient cannot seem to find anything that works for pain relief except morphine which just makes him sleep. Does anyone know of anything that might make this easier on him?

So if homeopathy worked - you could treat
diabetes using highly dilute glucose
cancer using highly dilute asbestos, or cigarette tar, or even water that had been irradiated
sepsis using highly dilute staph aureus
other suggestions welcome.
ANYONE up to trying that next time they are in the ICU?
sidsid - where's the data?
where are the cases of acute and potentially lethal staph aureus sepsis that were cured using homeopathy?

I need some advice i can not stand my fathers partner she has caused me so much pain since they have been together for know 23 years. My mother died when I was 7 years old then it was only my father and I. We got along really well; he would tell people that I was his little princess until she came alone. He basically started to ignore me he would spend most of the time with her. Then when I was about 14 years old she would wear some of my mums nice clothes in front of me which I can remember my mum wearing them and it would upset me so much that I would always cry and she did not care. Then when I would tell my dad that I was not happy with that he got angry at me and would throw the clothes at me. There were fights nearly every night and I did not have family to defend me because my mum’s parents were dead and my dad parents were overseas so at the time all I had were my friends. Then when I was 19 years old my dad partner basically wanted me out and they put me in a caravan park. So basically he chose her over me and I would cry nearly every night. while she was leaving in a nice house. And now my father has cancer caused by asbestos the cancer is stable at the moment. I want to be their for my father but the past still haunts me even thou I live in a nice place and work in admin and life is good I still find it very hard to forgive them and they both think they have done nothing wrong what should I do?
I think some people don't understand my question. If you don't get the support that you need when you are young it makes it a lot harder in life when you are an adult that is what I meant.
