For school we have to figure out what disease a person has after hearing a brief story how they began to show symptoms and died. The story I have to do is about a farmer who had a winter full of rain, a perfect spring and a great wheat harvest. After a year of good luck, he decided he was going to fix his barns roof. He worked on it for hours each day. After the roof was done he went to bed with a fever and chills. He then had trouble breathing and was hospitalized, he died two days later.

I'm thinking that he might have Mesothelioma, a disease you get from asbestos. I know that it takes a year to kill someone if untreated, and it sounds like he was in his barn (which had an old roof, and old building sometimes have asbestos) alot of that year. A lot of the symtoms are the same too. I'm just not sure if the symptoms are suppose to come sooner or something, so I was wondering if Im right or not. Does anyone know?
I'm pretty sure he started fixing the roof after the harvest. The actual sheet says "Once harvesting was done, he decided that the barn needed a new roof.". Looking back on it if it went over a course of a year, then he spent the Summer and Autumn after the spring working on it too... I think

Commercial: The Face of Mesothelioma?

There's a commercial that comes on TV every once in a while, where a guy gives his name and says "I am the face of mesothelioma." How conceited can a person get? What about all the other people out there that are suffering from mesothelioma? No... you're special... You're the face. They're just nobodies, is that what you're saying? What a jerk.

Is asbestos (mesothelioma) treatable?

Trying to get my stepmother put in jail, What can I do?

My dad remarried again when my birth mother died in 2000, My stepmother was not fair to me and my siblings, she treated her kids better, our father was always on the road, he was a truck driver. My stepmother has always been a thief, she once got caught stealing a pair of pants and turtle candy from wal mart and they press charges, she went to jail for 3 months....My father died in 2005 from mesothelioma and I moved out right away, because I was sick and tired of my stepmother, but we recently found out that she is still getting my father's SSI checks and cashing them, he been dead for 5 years now....I'm wondering how can I find out if this is true, so I can put her in jail. We also was told that their will be an compensation, because my father passed away from an asbestos-related disease, I'm almost 100% positive that the money might go to our stepmother and her kids....Do anyone know how that works?? I'm just in a tough situation and I want her put in jail, because 3 months was not long enough!!! Any advice will be appreciated!! Thanks :-)

What are the Chances of a pleural effusion in Borrelia burgdorferi?

So my grandmother was diagnost (Not Officially) with mesothelioma, but we believe it may be a tick born illness, due to the fact that three years earlier she went in and wanted tick born illness tests done on her, but found out that the doctor lied, he said that he had done them, but when she went in a week ago, she found that no such tests had been conducted. Then after told she ha mesothelioma, the doctor said that she could call for any questions, so she did and once again she was lied to because for two straight days none of her messages had been answered. So this made my family furious, so we swiched doctors, and her new doctor is doing more test, so What are the Chances of a pleural effusion in Borrelia burgdorferi, because we found out that people are being miss-diagnost this, while being tested for mesothelioma because it has all of the symptoms that she has right now, and she has nt had an official diagnosis(the old doctor just said she had it, from her symptoms. So What are the Chances of a pleural effusion in Borrelia burgdorferi, and how many americans have had pleural effusion in Borrelia burgdorferi( a type of tick born illness), and how many have been miss diagnost for pleural effusion in Borrelia burgdorferi. Also not to be snappy but I need actual numbers not just"it's rare" or "it's common"due to the fact that this is very important to me.

Also my grand mother lives in the woods of New England and raises goats, which are constantly getting ticks due to the overpopulation of deer in the area.
