We will dispose of it properly, and will wear protective clothing. I don't want any problems when we sell in a few years. Also, the asbestos is listed on our contract. Can we take it off the contract if we remove the ceiling?

We are in the process of remodeling our guest bedroom. When we pulled up the carpet we found vinyl flooring underneath. What is the likelihood of the glue used containing asbestos? We started pulling up one of the tiles, but stopped. I know we can get a piece tested or do it ourselves. Does anyone know where to find a DIY kit?...or is that a bad idea. Thanks!!

We are looking at a house to buy which has asbestos siding. The siding is in good condition, no major breaks/cracks. However, we would like to eventually vinly side the house and wondered if just going over the old siding would be fine. I have heard that it is OK to do so if the asbestos siding is in good condition. Anyone know if this is a good idea?

I was hooking up an industrial strenght air conditioner at work and my supervisor told me to cut some insualtion off an old pipe. Unbeknown to me, the joint of the pipe was insulated to asbestos and a good deal of it became airborne. I probably won't take legal action, but I am curious.

I have several broken or missing asbestos singles on my house. It is too expensive to have all of them removed and replaced with another type siding. Is it feeseable to cut a screen patch the size of the shingle I need and pour a thin layer of cement on it. Will it be stable enough to withstand the elements?

My house was built in 1900 and has been sided with asbestos siding shingles. I need to replace some of them because I cannot afford to get rid of them. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
I just want to replace a few of the shingles that have gotten damaged. I do not have to remove all of them in order to sell the home. I do appreciate all the help.

On a nearby project I heard that they had suspected that there was asbestos in the concrete slab? I was wondering what the purpose of this would be. My first idea was possibly to increase strength and then I read that sometime is was used in concrete roofs to make them lighter. So I am thinking that it does provide strength while allowing the concrete to be lighter, but that wouldn't explain a slab on grade.

We are planning to take up some old linoleum and someone mentioned that there may be asbestos that would get in the air. What is the best way to protect ourselves besides wearing a mask?

We are remodeling our bathroom and while we were tearing out the cupboards we found that there are three layers of linoleum, the bottom layer of which is asbestos. We can't afford to have a professional come out and do it. Is there any way that we can remove the tile ourselves? We don't want to encapsulate the floor either, we just want to get the asbestos out of there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are currently in the middle of closing on a house and ideas for updating the house have come up. The siding is asbestos and the current paint job has some chips. Without disturbing the asbestos and without residing the entire house, does anyone have any tips for ensuring a good paint job for this situation?
