Any Scientologists on Yahoo! Answers read about how the Freewinds has been sealed off after finally being condemned for the large amounts of Blue Asbestos (The super-toxic asbestos).

Have you or your familiy been ranked high enough in the "church" to go on a trip on the freewinds? Did you know the leaders of the church ignored advice to have it removed on several occaisions? Do you know how incredibly dangerous Blue asbestos is? (I'll give you a hint on the last one - a single inhale is worse than working in a smoking bar for 20 years.)

Here’s an interesting article on the subject. It turns out the Scientologists knew about the problem from the beginning.

"Since Hubbard had been in the US Navy and had then founded the Sea Org and had run a fleet of ships, he knew everything about ships. If asbestos was dangerous, he would have written this somewhere. Also Hubbard knew everything about cancer. He had written that cancer was caused by the mind and specifically second dynamic aberration (problems with relationships). I was told that people only get sick if they go into "agreement" with being sick. As the ship was going to be filled with "operating thetans" doing the highest level in Scientology (OT 8) nothing was going to make them sick. I was being a "wog" (non-scientologist) worrying about a little thing like asbestos."

I don’t think Scientologists care about anything other than getting as much money out of their members as they possibly can.

Oh my word… that’s just horrible. This asbestos problem has been going on for how long and they’re only NOW condemning this carcinogen riddled vessel of death?

    Wow. Again, just HORRIBLE.

Scientologist will avoid answering this question.

But thanks to you they know now!
