Can you give me some advice about my crack addicted sister?

My sister has been hooked on crack for 10 years. I am raising her son. She is 30 and has never had a job or been responsible for anything in her life. When my mom died a few years ago, her will said that whatever money my sister received from her life insurance should be held in my trust. That money has run out and now my sister is receiving settlement money from the lawsuit over my mom's death. (mesothelioma) This money legally doesn't have to be held in my trust. It could go straight to my sister but she agreed that because of her drug issue, my brother and I could hold on to it for her so she doesn't go blow it. There is about 75 thousand dollars total. Well, a year has passed and my brother and I are fed up being responsible for this money. She is constantly calling asking for more money, even though we agreed on a set budget. Obviously she is going and blowing this money on crack. We don't usually tell her no because legally, it is her money to do with what she wants. But we are so sick of the lies and deceit and the constant calls. And we are scared that drug dealers will show up at our house because she has told them we have all this money for her but won't give it to her.
If this were your sibling, or your adult child, would you just give them the whole 75 thousand and let them go blow it on crack?. Even though you know there is a good likelihood it would cause her to overdose and die? Or would you just keep answering the phone calls and give it to her a little bit at a time so she will be less likely to be able to go on a massive binge that will kill her?
My brother and I are so sick of all of this but at the same time, we don't want to live with the guilt of knowing that she died because we gave her all that money at once.
And she absolutely refuses long term rehab. She went a couple of times to 30 day programs, but she left to smoke crack within a week of getting out.
Is there anyway to get legal control of her money because of her addiction?
Thanks for your help.

Do you think that we have a chance?

I'm asking this because in 2003, my dad died of lung cancer. He was an insulator and was exposed to asbestos for many years without knowing. We are still in the middle of a lawsuit and next month we have to go to court for something called Work-mans Comp. Some of the people my dad worked with are lying and won't admit that they too worked with asbestos at the time my dad did. They are afraid they'll lose their job because some of the men are still working for the company, so they are going to lie on the stand, even though one of the guys was the best man at my parents wedding. They are going to say he died because he was a smoker. The thing is, even though he was, the specialist who reviewed my dads Autopsy report said that the asbestos had something to do with it whether he was a smoker or not.

My mom is now older than my dad was when he died (he was 45) and she is still alive and she's a smoker, and so are many other of his friends who are his age and smoke. I was just wondering what age people usually die of lung cancer due to smoking? I think it could help with the case, but I'm not really sure. I'm just looking for all the answers I can get so I can kind of see if we have a good chance or not. We've been waiting five years for this to go through and we've been struggling to get by, especially with this economy. I would rather have my dad back, but he wanted this for us because he couldn't be here to support us. He wouldn't want my mom to struggle like she has. We are about to lose our house, so if we win, everything would be okay. I need advice or someone elses opinion on what might happen.

Thanks in advance

-Tammy
The lawsuit is separate from the Work-mans comp, sorry if I made it sound like it was just one thing. What I'm basically worried about is the Work-mans comp. I just wanted to clear that up, sorry.

How can I make a good amount of $$, legally in a short amt. of time, I am a fairly good artist & writer?

My husband, myself, and our 3 sons, 7 and below have been living in an apt. owned by my hubbys g-parents. Recently we were evicted by my in-laws (my hubbys dad) and told we had 10 days to pack & move back in w/ them (5 people in an 8'X10' room w/ no window!) I am fr. a state in mid-west & after I lost my dad @ 22, 5 yrs. ago, i have been especially scared of losing my g-ma (my dads mom- the closest person in my entire life to me- & also my hero) who we found out on Valentine's Day this yr. she has mesothelioma. They were to remove her lung but top dr. in SF said she won;t be able to survive that- so he said to be comfy, go home, and enjoy her last 2-6 months. so when we got evicted recently I told his p's i was 2 leave n-e-ways- cuz i feel STRONGLY i need 2 be there since I was sposed to go 4 a visit 3 wk. after my dads death- i can't have this loss/ guilt too- my mind can't cope! In-laws were 2 $ but now they want us 2 wait a few months- that we don;t have- so i need job/$ QUICK-

how much does it cost to remove asbestos?

In california...can you remove it yourself? If removing tiles with asbestos glue that are frail, do we need to contact the local health authorities. Is it expensive to have them come out and do the job? How dangerous is it to do yourself and can you simply "cover" it with a new floor, such as hardwood or even re-cement the floor...

Can asbestos be 100% removed from a house where there is tested to be high Asbestos explosures area?

Say, if I hrie a fully licensed asbestos abatement contractor to do the removal/clean-up, after they do the job, how certain it is that the asbestos problems will be resolved?

Does anybody has any asbestos removal experience before?
0 seconds ago - 4 days left to answer.
There is a BROKEN transite vent pipe located in the attic. I got the test result says the transite pipe is a ACM, contains 22% asbestos.
Some HVAC contrabors did the installation work in the attic and broke the transite pipe without knowing it's a hazard of asbestos explosures. The broken transite pipe was left without any proper wrapping.

what to do when in your place of work there are asbestos insulation pipes exposed and deteriorated?

I work in construction in new york and this is the first time i seen this ,and i asked to the foreman of the job and he said that he doesnt know , but i asked to an electrician and he said that it was asbestos, i don`t know but i am scare that thing might be dangerous.

What are the stages of mesothelioma?

Hi. I was exposed to asbestos, silica and hydrofluoric acid fumes on the job for 10 years (20 yrs ago). In 05 I went into respiratory failure. An open lung biopsy turned up pleural Atypical Mesothelial Hyperplasia. The pulmonologists say it is asbestos related but it won't go any further. The brave people I've talked to who are dealing with mesothelioma say they had Atypical Mesothelial Hyperplasia at one time.

Anyone know the stages of Mesothelioma?? thanks

How dangerous is 'trace asbestos' in acoustic ceiling covering?

We had the acoustic ceiling stuff tested at a lab and it came back with 'trace' amounts of chrysotile. This means there was less than 1% asbestos. I have no idea if this is a lot or not. I understand asbestos is a cancer danger and that you don't want to breathe the stuff. My question is how dangerous would it be to remove the ceiling stuff ourselves? We'd really like to get it out of one of the bedrooms, not the whole house necessarily. I also understand that you can pay to have professionals do the job, which isn't really an option for budget reasons.

My plan would be to wet down the ceiling and scrape the stuff into a plastic bag and get it out of the house before it dries. We'd wear masks and goggles and gloves. Anyone know if this is completely foolish or actually reasonable? Sources would probably help with this answer if you happen to have any. Thanks in advance.

What job requires working near abestos?

I am writing a play. I am doing research on mesothelioma which is a cancer caused by asbestos. My question is does anyone know what job a person would have to have in order to come in direct contact with this substance. I know you can get it from other things such as washing clothes of someone who has been exposed to it but I mean direct contact. Also if anyone knows, I need to know-- if you get it from washing someones clothes does that mean that the person who wore the clothes has mesothelioma to?
