Asbestos attached to a heating furnace (octopus) in my basement...I'm trying to save myself thousands of dollars by doing this job myself. Please share what you know concerning the dangers involved in working with asbestos and any advice or helpful information on how to get this job done safely and correctly no matter how basic. Thanks very much!

I just started this job two weeks ago, removing asbestos. I wear all the proper equipment but even after taking two showers my arms, chest, and back still itch terribly; what to do ?

The other day, I was doing electrical work at a an old church. I was rewiring in the ceiling, where there were broken tiles and lots of debris. In my 8 hours of work there, I can say positively that a while bunch of debris landed on my head, face, and body, and I do know that a lot of it got into my mouth. It wasn't until I was about 95% done with the job that a co-worker told me that I should not have been doing that without a respirator, due to the fact that there was 1% asbestos in the tiles. I am very new at the job, and I wasn't aware of any of this. Am I at a high risk of developing lung problems in the future? If so, how long will it be before I notice any effects?

We want to make sure we seal in any of the remaining asbestos dust - but we'd also like it to be a water proofer so we can glue down hardwood floor a few weeks later. We're getting the masks, and we're putting plastic in the doorways and making sure we're safe while removing it - we just want to be prepared w/ the right kind of sealer and I'm not sure what kind to get. Brand names anyone?
we have not removed the asbestos yet.. we're planning the job before we start! We'd like the sealer to lock in the remaining asbestos fibers and also water proof the concrete for hardwood flooring glue down installation afterwards. we are in the humid south!

My cousin recently asked me to renovate an apartment for her. Unfortunately, her husband began removing the linoleum with a floor scraper before he was informed that the underlying adhesive had asbestos in it. All the tile is gone now and most of the adhesive has already been stripped away, but there's still quite a bit that's exposed and half scraped away. What should I do? Do I need to pay the loads for a professional to come in and finish the job or can I just lay carpet over all this asbestos?

Say, if I hrie a fully licensed asbestos abatement contractor to do the removal/clean-up, after they do the job, how certain it is that the asbestos problems will be resolved?
Does anybody has any asbestos removal experience before?
There is a BROKEN transite vent pipe located in the attic. I got the test result says the transite pipe is a ACM, contains 22% asbestos.
Some HVAC contrabors did the installation work in the attic and broke the transite pipe without knowing it's a hazard of asbestos explosures. The broken transite pipe was left without any proper wrapping.
