The next time you buy sanitary pads or tampons, check the labels and see
whether you spot any of the familiar signs stated in this email.

No wonder so many women in the world suffer from cervical cancer and womb
tumors. Have you heard that tampon makers include asbestos in tampons? Why
would they do this?

Because asbestos makes you bleed more, if you bleed more, you're going to
need to use more.

Why this isnt against the law since asbestos is so dangerous?

Because the powers that be, in all their wisdom (not), did not consider
tampons as being ingested, and therefore, didn't consider them illegal or
dangerous.

This month's Essence magazine has a small article about this and they
mention two manufacturers of a cotton tampon alternative. The companies are:

Organic Essentials @ 1-800-765-6491 and Terra Femme 1-800-755-0212.

Do I have lung cancer?

I'm 17 years old and eleven months ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the core of my brian. The tumor was removed, but that's not what I'm curious about. I've been smoking cigarettes for about a year now and a few months ago I developed a cough. It doesn't sound like anything worse than a common cold cough and I dismissed it as nothing, but it hasn't gone away. It isn't a constant cough either.. one to three times a day i'll just cough out of nowhere, sometimes there is phlegm in the cough, but I've never examined it for any signs of blood. On top of the cough, I went to a grade school for 9 years which was very very old and falling apart in some ways. Supposedly the building carried asbestos and even though the risks of that are mainly in the demolition of a building....there were holes in the walls and many patches among the piping. In the past 2 years, 3 kids (myself included) who attended the school were diagnosed with some kind of cancer. I had a brain tumor, another had lymphoma, and the last one had something in his leg. Are the coughs normal or should I be concerned? Let me know
Something I forgot to add...a few months ago I lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks doing almost nothing. I went from 195 lbs. to 162 lbs. I've always had a fast metabolism but this striked me as a little extreme

The government says that building with asbestos/ lead can’t be torn down, is this really true?

Someone said that someone they know worked for an asbestos removal team. That it was really dangerous work. Finally law makers passed legislation that people had to stop tearing them down because it was a greater health risk to the workers and people living in the immediate area to tear the building down , due to it is old, it breaks, and not in one piece, than it is to just leave them standing. All it takes is the smallest piece of asbestos in your lungs for you to develop serious lung and other illnesses.
What do you think, could they evacuate the buildings? I see people living in brand new buildings all the time that says "This building is known to the state of California to cause cancer" So the problems are that they are building more buildings with toxins, and/ or leaving dangerous buildings just standing, giving off fumes and maybe not evacuating them. Something seems wrong? What do you think?
Not just apartment buildings but, these signs are also in grocery stores, auto repair shops, the parking structures under malls and hospitals.

Lung cancer – Mesothelioma? Do you know much about it?

I have been lucky, and have not had to deal with the nastiness of cancer. My grandpa has Mesothelioma, the cancer from asbestos. He has been in Stage 4 for the past 3 years and has defied all of the odds. They originally only gave him a couple months to a year to live, but Chemo has worked wonders. He just had a scan and the results showed it has increased in size significantly, so the last round of Chemo didn't work. This has caused his ability to breathe to decrease, and the changed his Chemo. He had his treatment with the new stuff on Friday, and they rushed him to the hospital today because of his inability to breathe.

My question is are these signs of the beginning of the end? I know this form of cancer will eventually suffocate him, and he does have a living will, so oxygen is the only form of assistance he will receive. How long will oxygen help? I am very saddened by all of this and would hate to see him suffer for long like this. He is a good man and doesn't deserve to die like this. Do your organs shut down due to lack of oxygen? Anyone with experience with Mesothelioma or that knows about this and can give me some insight, I'd appreciate any details no matter how graphic. I just want to know what to expect.
Don't go into all of the herbs and stuff you can take to beat cancer. We know he is dying and cannot beat this. I really appreciate the thought though.
I know they cannot tell us when he will die, but I feel so helpless. Thanks for the link, but I have read everything out there about this and really was hoping to find someone who knows about this type of cancer first hand.

Asbestos safety?

Hey i am planning on going into the Northampton State Hospital in Massachusetts soon to take pictures, but they have signs around and on the buildings saying Asbestos, cancer, and lung disease. I am only going in for about an hour, but I don't want to get contaminated. What would be the proper face-mask to wear? I was thinking about those ones the doctors use or the paper ones you can buy from home depot. Are these safe? I'd rather not go and buy a face mask.

Thanks
Thanks for the tip, I didnt think that amount of time would be bad... The place isn't being worked on, it's just sitting there empty so the asbestos fibers shouldn't be disrupted.
